A New Year, A New You: CEC Brings Le Cordon Bleu® Brand Name and Education to Boston with its Le Cordon Bleu Challenge
Re-named Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Provides Hands-on, Global Experience to Area Students BOSTON, Mass. (Jan. 4, 2010) – Le Cordon Bleu invites residents to watch as Boston chefs, local personalities and students compete for the “Le Cordon Bleu Ribbon” title to celebrate the national re-naming of the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. The transition to the Le Cordon Bleu brand name reflects a continued commitment, on behalf of the faculty and staff, to provide students with the foundation for a fulfilling career opportunity in the hospitality industry. The name change will officially be recognized with a blue ribbon cutting ceremony during the Le Cordon Bleu Challenge event on Jan. 14, which marks the first-ever cooking demonstration on an electric stove at Le Cordon Bleu Paris in 1896.
Three teams will put their own modern twist on the classic Poulet Sauté aux Fines Herbes (Sautéed Chicken with Herbs). Attendees will be able to taste the competition dish created by each team and vote to determine the winner. In addition, a portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the local Ronald McDonald House.
“With this transition, our Le Cordon Bleu schools are proud to provide students in Boston and across the country the foundation for a fulfilling career opportunity in the hospitality industry,” said Kirk T. Bachmann, Vice President, Academics, Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. “This competition highlights the great history of Le Cordon Bleu and the passion for cooking shared by our students, instructors and alumni.”
The Le Cordon Bleu Ribbon Chef Challenge event will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Space is limited. Entry to the event is $25 per person.
