Orlando Culinary Academy Announces New Diploma, Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Program Taught in Spanish

(September 25, 2008) - The Orlando Culinary Academy (OCA) is pleased to announce the addition of their new Spanish Diploma Program. This 30-week program will begin on Monday, September 29 at the OCA campus and will offer Spanish-speaking students an opportunity to earn a diploma in Le Cordon Bleu culinary arts.
Students will spend 24 weeks in the kitchens at the OCA campus and the final six weeks in their externships. All classes will be taught in Spanish by Chef Luis Ortiz, head instructor, and Chef Alex Rodriguez, associate instructor and graduate of OCA Culinary Arts AAS. Classes will be held Monday through Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.
Students in this program will be exposed to a lecture class in Safety and Sanitation and seven hands-on introductory classes in culinary skills, baking and pastries, garde manger, meat fabrication, European and Asian Cuisine, and American Cuisine. Tuition for the diploma program includes the application fee, books, tools, uniforms and food costs. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. Upon completion of the 30-week program, students will receive two diplomas, one from Orlando Culinary Academy and one from Le Cordon Bleu. Students who complete the program may also have the opportunity to transfer into an OCA degree program.

We hope to also add an English-speaking program just like this.”
OCA is offering tours of their campus to provide more details about the Spanish Diploma Program on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
