Kitchen Academy Seattle Transitions To Become Le Corden Bleu College Of Culinary Arts
Local Tukwila school continues to offer quality culinary education
TUKWILA, WA (Nov. 9, 2009) — Kitchen Academy Seattle announced today that it will adopt Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts as the school’s name, bringing the prestige of the Le Cordon Bleu brand name and the hands-on, quality educational experience of Kitchen Academy together. Each of the 17 U.S. culinary schools, owned by Career Education Corporation (CEC) (NASDAQ:CECO), will undergo a similar change.
The transition to the Le Cordon Bleu name reflects a continued commitment, on behalf of the faculty and staff, to provide students with the foundation for a fulfilling career in the hospitality industry. Our school has provided our students with a quality culinary education, and we're excited to continue to do so by adopting the Le Cordon Bleu academic program.
"Our schools in the U.S. have produced a number of exceptional culinary professionals and continue to be dedicated to promoting the advancement of culinary education and training," says Mike Giacomini, president Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. "We constantly work to enhance the educational experience of our students, and this is just one small example of our efforts."
Uniting CEC's culinary schools throughout the U.S. under the Le Cordon Bleu brand name not only enhances each school's reputation and elevates its presence, but creates a national network of resources for the students and staff.
On Jan. 14, 2010, Le Cordon Bleu schools across the country will celebrate this transition with local events. The Jan. 14th date serves to remember and respect the first-ever cooking demonstration on an electric stove, held at Le Cordon Bleu Paris on Jan. 14, 1895. From there, a tradition of excellence and a culinary culture was born. Event details will become available as the date approaches.
