Founded in 1994, Le Cordon Bleu of Culinary Arts in Los Angeles, California (formerly the California School of Culinary Arts) is part of a small group of culinary schools in America to partner with internationally renowned Le Cordon Bleu - the leading authority on culinary arts techniques, training, and development for over a century.

Our Le Cordon Bleu Pasadena & Hollywood, California Culinary School Campuses
Our Pasadena, California culinary school campus, located in the historic Playhouse District, is only 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles and is the center of the School. Excited, determined cooking school students flow through our hallways into our teaching/lecture kitchen labs and classrooms. Our labs feature industry-current commercial equipment and are designed for maximum efficiency, usability and comfort.

Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, California offers a great proving ground to replicate the kind of fast-paced environment our culinary school graduates can experience on the job. This building also houses our Learning Resource Center, an important facility for both students and culinary professionals throughout Southern California, providing current information available to industry professionals.

The Pasadena culinary school campus features our popular 561 Restaurant, where our students gain practical, real-world experience while showing off their skills. This building also houses the informal School Café and Campus Cookstore.

About Le Cordon Bleu
Few institutions possess the prestige of Le Cordon Bleu. Its internationally renowned culinary arts curriculum has become synonymous with expertise, innovation, tradition, and refinement-qualities meticulously nurtured by the school.

Le Cordon Bleu was founded as a cooking school in Paris in 1895. Its name traces to a high honor bestowed upon members of the Order of the Holy Spirit by King Henry III in the 1500s.

The awarded medallion, called the Cross of the Holy Spirit, was suspended from a blue ribbon, or Le Cordon Bleu.

At the end of the 19th century, a collection of recipes called "La Cuisinière Cordon Bleu" was published to much acclaim. The book's success prompted its publisher to open a cooking school with the Cordon Bleu designation.

The school's reputation spread fast, both in France and internationally. Since then, students throughout the world have trained in the culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu.

Le Cordon Bleu's arrival in the United States ushered in a new educational era in culinary arts that combines classical European techniques with modern American technology and training.

As a testament to their accomplishment, California cooking school graduates receive a specialized associate degree or diploma, and the coveted Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Diplôme
