Food at Fenway Park
Fenway Park is one of country’s most well known baseball stadiums. Built in 1912, this venerable building is home to the infamous Green Monster, an abundance of historical memorabilia, and also a variety of places to dine in the surrounding area. There are plenty of local bars and restaurants that surround Fenway, so be sure and stop by one of these eateries to get some food before or after the game.
Head Over to Landsdowne Street
Landsdowne is right near the stadium, and offers a myriad of different establishments. The Tiki Room and Tequila Rain are two restaurants where you can grab a good bite to eat before the game. The Tiki Room is famous for its giant pupu platters, and also its 64 ounce drinks.
Tequila Rain is a nice sit-down restaurant where you can order anything from baby back ribs to roasted chicken or pork chops. No matter what you choose, the food is delicious, and is a great way to eat a large meal before you go to the stadium.
A Place to take the Family
Yawkey Way is another staple of the Fenway Park area. Located on the opposite side of Landsdowne Street, Yawkey Way has an old time band, broadcasts of the pre-game show, and a nice bustling atmosphere, which makes it the perfect place for anyone with kids. This restaurant serves more traditional ballpark fare, with Italian sausages, beers, Philly Cheesesteaks, Cuban Sandwiches and more. Yawkey Way is a great location to round out any Fenway experience.
Eat at the Stadium
As with any ballpark, there are a variety of food vendors located within the walls of the stadium. Inside you can find Polish Sausages, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, chowder, and of course, salted peanuts. Although you will pay a pretty penny for food inside Fenway Park (around $5.50 or $6.50 depending on what you get), you can avoid some of the pre-game crowds and enjoy your food while you watch the Red Sox play.
After the Game
A classic destination after the game is the Cask ‘N Flagon, which is located on the first corner as you approach the stadium. There is a diverse mix of fans here, though it’s mostly a stopping point for the younger crowds. Cask ‘N Flagon is the perfect post-game location to grab a beer after the game and hang out with friends.
It’s All a Good Time
No matter what you choose to do before, during and after the game, you are sure to have a good time. Inside and out, Fenway has an incredible atmosphere of history, fun and community. The area surrounding the park is packed with people around game time, so peruse the area, meet some Bostonians, or just hang out with the friends who came with you. If you aren’t a local, try and see as many of these places as possible to get the most out of your Fenway Park experience.
