Have an Egg-Cellent Easter – 3 Uses for Eggs This Spring
Okay, all cheesy puns aside (though egg-cellent is a pretty great word, isn’t it?), eggs are incredibly versatile natural wonders. Perhaps there is no greater time for egg creativity than the wonderful months of spring leading up to Easter, a time when the egg and its decorative uses are more than just a culinary art, but a work of art as well. This year, combine your artistic and culinary skills with these three fun uses for eggs this Easter. California culinary creations continue to be leading trendsetters in grade A restaurants and bakeries throughout the country. Now get your own take on Grade A cuisine with these unique Grade A egg ideas!
Colorful egg salad
What better way to use your leftover Easter eggs then by turning them into an egg salad. Typically you will find a bit of the dye has begun to seep through and into the egg white of the boiled egg. If you want to make these colors a little brighter, feel free to add some food coloring. Instead of cutting up the eggs as much as you would for the usual egg salad, leave them in slightly larger chunks to showcase the splendid colors.
Decorative deviled eggs
Deviled eggs combine so many great aspects into one place. Everyone loves eating with their fingers, the pretty design swirl of the yoke and all the amazing taste of boiled eggs continue to make these simple treats a party favorite. Give your Easter eggs a second chance to shine with these colorful deviled eggs.
Holiday hardboiled egg crumbles
Feel like making a healthy snake or lunch? Combine your favorite salad ingredients and top it off with some Easter egg crumbles. Not only does hardboiled egg taste great in salad, but it also helps rev up its nutritional value since eggs are high in protein. If you are looking to make it slightly more low-cal, remove the yokes and add a bit of salt for flavor and sprinkle the whites on top of the salad.
Now you have three new ideas to revive your decorated Easter eggs. When you can get something that not only looks great aesthetically but tastes great too, you are exploring the basics of the culinary arts. California culinary, much like the sunshine warming the state itself, is all about looking great with a purpose so try any of these tasty Easter egg creations and you will be fashionable for the season while still being functional!
