Suzy Singh - 7/27 Master Chef Update

August 4, 2011 Le Cordon Bleu General, Le Cordon Bleu 0 Comments

So last night was a tough one....literally!! We started the day off with a mystery box challenge. In the box we have 3 diver sea scallops, honey, croissant, shelled peas, corn, avocado, and bacon. I did a pan seared sea scallop wrapped in bacon with a croissant crouton, and a roasted corn and pea salad. Adrian's dish was by far the most appealing, gorgeous, and looked delicious! He had a tour around the world with south American cuisine, American scallops, and Parisian flair for the last scallop. Christian's Scallop looked great as a tasting. I give Ben Starr mad props for conveying the banana into a scallop!! It looked beautiful but the taste needed to come together. In the end Adrian won and had the opportunity of choosing a part of the pig that the other contestants had to cook. We were hoping that we would meet a celebrity chef and cook against them to go into the final 4 challenge, but the only celebrity in this challenge was Babe! Christian and I had the honor of having the hardest parts of the Pig- Pork belly and Pork Cheeks. I found that Germany is the one country that celebrate pork even more so than any other country in the world. I made spaetzle for scratch using Pork Belly as the Fat. I then infused pork into the braised cabbage and did a 60 minute pork belly glaze. In the end Myself, Jennifer, and Alejandra went into the bottom 3. My fellow 2 competitors were amazing competitors and in the end, Alejandra went home- never serve undercooked pork! Follow me on Facebook for more insight suzy singh- masterchef season 2.
