10 Gifts You Should Never Buy A Food Lover

We all have those family members or friends that you just don’t know what to get them.  You have to resort to giving them something food related; in this case, gift cards are good. However there are some food gifts that should never get wrapped especially if the person you’re sending to loves food, here are 10.

Edible Bling Spray
Your food is pretty enough. It does not need spray on shine or gold.

Generic Fruit Basket
Maybe in an extreme emergency for an acquaintance, but never for someone you know.  Seriously, nothing says happy holidays like a generic fruit basket with fruit that will probably go bad within a day.

Canned Ham
One word comes to mind, boring. What’s it preserved in anyways?

Nut Basket
This gift will have people thinking you completely forgot about the holidays and had to run to the local corner market to pick up generic nuts.

World’s Largest Gummy Worm
Why? Unless it’s a kid, which if you’re sending food the person is most likely not a kid. It’s pretty gross. The receiver might tell you to grow up.

Jelly Basket
Also generic and completely un-thoughtful plus, you don’t really know what kind of jelly you’ll get or how old the jars of jelly are, not a good gift.

A Banana Stand
If you are around when the recipient opens this gift you may enjoy a good laugh while they try to figure out what exactly this odd looking object is.  Who needs a banana hanger? I know, nobody.

Fruitcake
A popular tradition, but it’s not good. Very few people enjoy fruitcakes. They usually end up in the trash, freezer or a fruitcake-tossing contest.

Boxed Food Ingredients
If the person you’re buying a gift for loves to cook, don’t buy them a package that has pre-made ingredients in it.  Part of loving to cook is that they love to work with fresh ingredients.

Box of generic Candy
Don’t buy a generic box of candies that look like they’re outdated. They don’t taste good and it looks as if you put zero thought into the gift.

There you have it, ten gifts that you should never buy for someone that loves food.  It’s best to either get them a gift card or just stay away from the food idea at all.  They love food, they cook with food they understand good cooking.
