4 No Fail Appetizers to Rev up the Romance
Valentine’s Day can be one of the most amazing times to flex your culinary muscles. If you are a culinary arts enthusiast or simply enjoy a good meal, love and good food seem to go hand and hand. So what happens if you combine traditional culinary training with amazing aphrodisiacs? Well, we wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise….so try some of these amazing ingredients in your culinary arts creation this Valentine’s Day and you will be sure to rev up the romance! You don’t necessarily need extensive culinary arts training or a baking certificate to make your loved one a special meal. Remember, simple can be sweet, so concentrate on not only the meal but the preparation too!
Chocolate: Chocolate has long been viewed as a symbol of romance. Perhaps the most common Valentine’s gift that comes to mind is the traditional heart shaped box filled with chocolates. You may wonder how you can incorporate this feel good, smooth and tasty aphrodisiac into an appetizer, but where there is a will, there is always a way. Why not substitute the traditional appetizer cheese fondue with the normal dessert chocolate fondue? You may also want to begin with chocolate crepes or maybe even bananas topped with Nutella, a hazelnut and chocolate spread, and a bit of cinnamon. It’s your holiday, choose the things that will make you and your partner happy! Be creative, after all, that’s what the culinary arts are all about.
Oysters: Try heating things up with some oysters. These are perhaps the easiest aphrodisiacs to prepare and they naturally make a terrific appetizer. Eat them raw, or prepare them anyway you would like. You will find these little gems, while their aphrodisiac powers are debatable, are tasty and will add a bit of decadence to your meal.
Asparagus: This one is also tasty and said to put lovers in “the mood.” Try steaming some asparagus and lightly drizzle olive oil over it. This makes the perfect appetizer. If you would like to enjoy asparagus along with other veggies, try topping a salad with these tasty treasures for extra texture and flavor.
Caviar: Caviar has a sturdy reputation of being available only to the elite and wealthy. Perhaps this has something to do with its appeal and overall popularity…or perhaps it’s the alleged aphrodisiac powers associated with it. It’s been said that caviar is rich in zinc which is known to simulate testosterone in the male. Try this terrific appetizer in even the smallest amount. It will be an exciting and special treat to start off your meal.
When it comes to romance, it’s all in the mood you set. If you are worried about how something will taste or whether or not your love with enjoy it, the romance can be swallowed up. Just remember, try your best, light some candles and put on some relaxing music.
