Treats to Make Your Significant Other – Even if You Can’t Cook
Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to get into the kitchen and whip up something special for your sweetheart. This does not mean that you must be a master chef or have attended a cooking school in Dallas. There are a wide variety of easy things to make that will still get your message of love across, here are just a couple to get you started.
Cupcakes
Cupcakes are one of the easiest things you can make in your own kitchen. All you need is a box of mix, a few ingredients, a cupcake tray and your imagination. Once your cupcakes are done personalize them by writing romantic messages to your partner. Or even easier, decorate with frosting and candy conversation hearts.
Heart-Shaped Pancakes
If your valentine enjoys pancakes in the morning this is another great way to show that you care. You can purchase a heart- shaped pancake mold at a local retailer or use a large heart-shaped cookie cutter and cut the shapes out once the pancakes have cooked. You can also use the cookie-cutter as a stencil for adding sweet powdered sugar hearts to the top of traditional pancakes.
Cheese Board
There is nothing more romantic than a candle-lit dinner on Valentine’s Day. If you are not confident with your skills as a cook, a bottle of wine and a well-prepared cheese board makes a great alternative to a traditional meal. Pick up a variety of cheeses, some crusty bread and assorted fruits, nuts and olives and your partner will be so impressed they won’t even notice that you didn’t cook. However if you would like to improve your prowess in the kitchen consider enrolling in culinary schools or a cooking school in Dallas.
There’s Always Takeout
Sometimes a romantic treat is more about the presentation than whether you cooked it yourself or not. If your sweetheart’s favorite dish is pizza or lo-mein, order from your favorite takeout place but serve it up on the good china, light the candles, pour a bottle of wine, maybe even make a simple homemade dessert like brownies to finish up the meal and your partner is sure to be impressed. Culinary schools are a great place to take classes and pick up more ideas on cooking and entertaining.
