5 Fun Food Gifts for Kids

If you have kids and you love to cook, there isn’t a better feeling than the moment when you see your child pull a chair up to the counter beside you and ask, “Can I help?”  Your heart is warmed instantly until they actually try to help and touch everything on the counter. Then your wet ingredients are mixed with the dry ingredients, flours everywhere, knifes are flying. Okay, maybe a bit dramatic, but you get the point. So, how do you foster your child’s inner chef, without them ruining your dinner or hurting themselves? Here are 5 fun food gifts for kids that will encourage your child to love cooking.

Personalized Apron’s
All kids love to play dress up, let them play in the kitchen with a complete apron and chef’s hat. Make it even more personal by embroidering their name on the apron and hat.

Kids Cookbook
There are many books that help kids get introduced to cooking. They include simple recipes like how to make pasta, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and pizza. They are fun recipes that allow kids to cook the food they like.

Kids Cooking Utensils

Get your child their very own cooking set. Spatulas, whisks, measuring cups and more – they come in a variety of colors and fun shapes for kids. With their own utensils they have more fun.

Nylon Knife Set
Cups and spoons are fun, but what kids really get excited about are knives. Realistically as a parent, it’s your worst nightmare. However, a nylon knife set is safe to use (under supervision) they don’t have pointed tips and the blades are all serrated. With this set, your child can safely sharpen their knife skills.

Child’s Nonstick Rolling Pin
Aside from knives, your child’s next favorite kitchen utensil is a rolling pin. But, you’re probably not a big fan of your nice rolling pin rolling across the floor.  The perfect gift for a child chef is lightweight rolling pin. Save your rolling pin and pickup a child size pin for your kid.

These unique gifts for your child chef are a safe and fun way to get them involved in the kitchen. Maybe someday they’ll grow from your little helper to running their own kitchen.
