How to Make Maple Cream Candy

If you’re looking for an incredible sweet treat for yourself or for someone special, Maple Cream Candy makes the perfect treat.  They are relatively easy to cook and offer the perfect fix for any sweet tooth’s craving.  Here’s how to make these sweet treats.

Ingredients:

1 Cup of Pure Dark Maple Syrup
2 Cups of Sugar
1 Cup of Heavy Cream
2 Tablespoons of light Corn Syrup
½ Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1 Cup of Coarsely Chopped Pecans

Prepping
For starters you’ll want to oil a 9x9-inch baking pan. Next you’ll want to use a medium saucepan to mix the maple syrup, sugar, cream and corn syrup together.

Heating and Cooling.
A key to any type of candy making – especially with sugar – is keeping a close watch on the temperature. For this recipe you’ll want to heat the maple syrup, sugar, cream and corn syrup over medium-high heat until it reaches 236°.  After hitting the desired temperature, you’ll want to transfer your mixture to metal mixing bowl that attaches to an electric mixer. Let the mixture cool until it reaches 110°.  Set this aside because it will take some time to cool.

Mixing Remaining Ingredients

After your mixture has cooled you can add in the vanilla extract, attach the paddle to your mixture and mix on medium.  Blend your mixture until it becomes thick and loses its gloss. Don’t over mix, or your candy will become grainy.  After mixed to the right texture, fold in the pecans.

Serving You Delightful Sweets

Spread your mixture in an even layer into your 9x9 pan allow to cool and set for a few hours before cutting and serving.

This is a treat for the true sweet tooth.  These maple syrup candies make the perfect snack for guests or a wrap several to create a great gift for friends.
