Nothing says spring like a good old fashioned barbecue. With summer only a few months away, it’s time to exercise your grill master skills with some hot and spicy recipes. Grab a cool drink, fire up the grill and try out some of these hot and tasty barbeque delights. These recipes are just as easy to make as they are to enjoy!
Raspberry Hot Barbeque Sauce
Recipe by A. Keskitalo at AllRecipes.comMaybe you’ve never thought about combining raspberries and barbeque sauce before. But you’re in for a pleasant surprise. Sweet and spicy are the perfect compliments and berries make this recipe even more suiting for the season.
Ingredients:
1 (36 ounce) bottle ketchup
1 1/4 cups raspberry preserves
1 (8 ounce) jar honey
1 cup dill pickle juice
2 tablespoons prepared spicy mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon dried minced onion flakes
2 teaspoons garlic powder
Ground black pepper to taste
1 dash hot pepper sauce, or to taste
Directions:
Stir together the ketchup, raspberry preserves, honey, pickle juice, mustard, brown sugar, vinegar, red pepper flakes, onion flakes, garlic powder, and black pepper in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil while stirring. Reduce heat to low and stir in the hot sauce; simmer for about an hour and then coat onto your favorite grilled meats and enjoy.
Spicy Texas Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients:
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/4 cup lime juice
2 tablespoons ground red chilies (to taste)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cups onion (chopped, 3 medium)
2 jalapeno chilies (seeded and finely chopped)
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 can tomato paste (12 ounce)
12 ounce beer (any brand)
Directions:Heat all ingredients to boiling in a 2 quart saucepan; reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 1 hour; stirring occasionally. Recipe makes about 5 cups of sauce.
Sweet and Sticky Barbecue Sauce
Recipe by RachaelRay.comOn her site, Rachael Ray says that this tasty recipe can be made as early as two weeks in advance and stored until you are ready to enjoy it. Also, because of the ingredients in the recipe, this sauce means less clean up time since it won’t stick the grill. What more could you ask for?
Ingredients:
1/2 cup vegetable oil
5 garlic cloves (chopped)
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 green bell pepper ( chopped)
Salt
1/4 cup dark rum
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground clove
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 cups water
2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1/2 cup cider vinegar
2 teaspoons hot sauce
Directions:
Heat the oil in a large saucepan. Add the garlic, onion, green pepper and a large pinch of salt and cook over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 10 minutes. Add the rum and simmer for 2 minutes. Add the chili powder, black pepper, allspice and cloves and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add the brown sugar, water, ketchup, molasses, mustard, vinegar and hot sauce and simmer over moderate heat, stirring often, until thickened, about 30 minutes. Transfer the barbecue sauce to a large food processor and puree. Season the sauce with salt.
