5 Great Gifts for the Dad who Loves to Cook
Time to celebrate Dad – either his birthday, or for Father’s Day, or even just a gift to show him how much he means to you – these gift ideas can fill the bill to make his special day just that: special. The cost can be as little or as great as budgetary considerations dictate, but regardless, a gift from the heart will mean more to dad than anything else.
So dad loves to cook! Whether he is the “grill master” in charge of the outdoor cooking, or he enjoys filling the kitchen with mouthwatering aromas, a new set of cooking utensils; i.e. knives, forks, spatulas, tongs, all stainless steel or wood handled, depending on his preference, and budget considerations, it doesn’t matter; this is a gift that will be enjoyed every time he uses them.
You may also want to see what your local culinary school offers in the way of amateur cooking classes. St Louis cooking school classes can help you father follow his passion and brush up on his skills. You can either look online or visit the school in person in order to get a full lists of classes and dates.
Does dad enjoy recipes? Another great idea for the cooking dad is to order a subscription to his favorite cooking magazine. This will be a constant reminder of your thoughtfulness, and give him something new to look forward to each month or so for his creative outlet. Some magazines are a bit pricey, but you can usually get a much better deal with a subscription as opposed to buying individual magazines “off the rack”.
Looking for something for little ones to help make? Custom design a new cooking apron for dad. You can usually find a plain cooking apron in most department stores. Using a bit of creativity, and some paint, kids can customize the apron with their handprints, drawings, or their writing “For Dad” on the apron. Not only will dad enjoy this gift, but it is sure to become a keepsake of cherished memories.
Does dad enjoy cooking with different spices? One way to show him you appreciate all that he does is to give him a “collection” of different spices. These can be as individual and as unique as your dad is. Formal collections can be found at larger department stores, or you can customize your own collection depending on what he likes to use. Just find a cool basket and fill with different spices and seasonings, marinades or whatever dad will use. This gift is only limited by the imagination, and is something dad will appreciate over and over (those who enjoy his cooking will appreciate it, too!).
Finally, for the cooking dad, especially the dad who enjoys cooking outside, a great gift to give is a new grill or stove. This can be a bit pricey, but you can go online to shop for the best deals on this gift. Splitting the cost of this kind of gift between more than one “giver” (if possible) can also reduce the overall price of the gift. Keeping in mind what it will be used for, and knowing that it is a long-term investment, this gift will show dad greatly how much you appreciate all that he does for those that he loves and cares for. Whether it is a class at a culinary school, a full program at St Louis cooking school or a new book of recipes, your dad will be sure to love his gift!
