The Red Cross was able to deliver sandwiches and cookies to residents affected by tornadoes in Georgia with the help of volunteers from Le Cordon Bleu and UPS.

Chef Jeff Mekolites of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Tucker, Georgia (metro Atlanta) helped recruit 30 student volunteers to prepare a school donation of boxed lunches for Red Cross tornado relief.

Le Cordon Bleu volunteers made and wrapped 400 sandwiches and 400 pastries for the Red Cross to distribute to Georgia tornado survivors to let them know “You’re in our thoughts.”

Red Cross partner UPS picked up the donated meals from Le Cordon Bleu and headed to hard-hit Spalding County to rendezvous with disaster volunteers doing mobile feeding in the area.
