10 Things to Stock Your Pantry with This Fall

Fall is the season where the temperature cools down, however it often heats up with various activities, unpredictable weather and unexpected guests. That’s why in the fall it’s important to keep your pantry stocked with ingredients that can easily make a quick meal. Plus, in addition to having the convenience of it all right in your pantry it’s often healthier.
Here are 10 must-have ingredients to keep in your pantry so that you can be ready for the hectic fall season:

  1. Canned tomatoes – perfect for pastas sauces, queso dips for the game and soups for those chilly evenings or crockpot meals.
  2. Chicken, beef or vegetable broth – these are the staples for any soup base.
  3. Dried pasta – you can’t go wrong with pasta. Keep a variety for various recipes (penne, fettuccini, orzo) all great for a quick meal and sometimes even leftovers.
  4. Canned beans – a variety of beans can go a long way and be used as a quick protein in several different recipes.
  5. Canned tuna fish – is the most versatile fish in the sea and is an absolute staple in any pantry. Use it for pastas, sandwiches and the quick and easy tuna melt.
  6. Dried fruits – this healthy treat is a great snack for the kid and adults. Use it for trail mix, salads or perfect on its own.
  7. Olives – what can't you do with olives? They’re great as a topping and sidekick to many meals.  Keep several varieties for pizza, pasta dishes, tapenades and finger food to name a few.
  8. Good-quality breadcrumbs – used for many different things such as a main course topping like breading chicken, or a quick appetizer for the game like coating and cooking mozzarella sticks.
  9. Tomato sauce/tomato paste – making your pasta sauce or pizza sauce is healthy, fun and inexpensive.
  10. Rice – brown, white and wild rice medleys are all perfect compliments to any dinner featuring chicken or beef. Rice is the best emergency side dish.

It doesn’t matter if you have a busy on-the-go lifestyle, a lot of family, or just enjoy being prepared. Having a pantry stocked with the above items will have you ready for fall. It’s healthy, cheaper and you’re prepared for anything that might come your way.
