The Best Warm Beverages for Fall
By the time autumn rolls around, the weather has already begun to get chilly and gloomy. Sometimes, it's best to enjoy your free time cuddled up on the couch with a hot beverage to sip on. While many people laugh at the thought of ever been cold in the desert, the fall is chilly and even Arizona culinary schools focus some attention, as the weather turns, to warm and comforting beverages. The following are some beverages that would pair up perfectly with a cool fall day.
1) Irish Coffee
For coffee lovers, nothing beats a piping hot mug on a gloomy autumn day. For responsible adults who want an extra kick to their coffee, Irish coffee never fails to satisfy. To make this power drink, start off with a strong, black coffee. If you aren't so fond of dark coffee, add only as much as you prefer. Next, add a splash of Irish whiskey to spike the coffee. There are many varieties out there so choose your favorite. Finally, add a spoonful or two of brown sugar and top the whole thing off with a generous swirl of whipped cream. The Irish coffee is so popular that it is said to be second only to Guinness in Irish pubs and cooking class at Arizona culinary schools teach this basic recipe to students since it is often seen on the menu in many of the posh area resorts.
2) Warm Apple Cider
If you thought that apple cider couldn't get any better, think again. Warm apple cider is a perfect beverage for the fall season because it will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. First, pour fresh apple cider into a pot and heat it up on the stove. Next, add in your favorite spices to kick the cider up a notch or two. Cinnamon and nutmeg go quite well with the distinct flavor of apple. If you'd like to really spice things up, add some Goldschlager to create a delicious autumn cocktail.
3) Adult Hot Chocolate
If you ask around, many people will tell you that their ideal cold weather beverage is a creamy and steamy hot cocoa. This winter drink is beloved by people of all ages. Hot chocolate is commonly enjoyed with mini marshmallows being melted into the drink, but this version is just a bit different. Since mint and chocolate go so well together, this adult hot chocolate calls for the addition of mint schnapps for some added warmth from the alcohol. If you want even more minty flavor and some holiday flair, hang small candy canes onto the side of your mug and have them dipping into the hot cocoa.
4) Warm Milk
Simple and simply delicious, warm milk doesn't need to be something special in order to make you feel good. Just pour yourself a fresh glass of milk and heat it up on the stove or in the microwave. You can either enjoy it in pure form, or add some sugar, nutmeg, and vanilla extract to really make it even better. Warm milk is the epitome of a comfort food because it never fails to put a smile on your face. This is one tasty drink you don’t need cooking class for!
5) Jasmine Tea
For all you health-conscious types, nothing really revitalizes you like a warm glass of hot tea. Jasmine tea is an especially aromatic type of green tea that is full of cancer-combating antioxidants. Jasmine tea also gives you a boost of energy and speeds up your metabolism as well. Like most other teas, jasmine tea is naturally mild tasting and very low in calories. It can be enjoyed on a regular basis as part of a balanced diet.
