One of the oldest cities in the United States, Boston is historically rich and cosmopolitan. Its vibrant neighborhoods offer something for every taste, with shopping and dining experiences influenced by the multi-cultural backgrounds of its residents. It is celebrated in food circles for its wide variety of markets and nationally-recognized restaurants – including the oldest operating restaurant in the country, the Union Oyster. As the birthplace of the American Revolution, the city provides a vivid window onto our country’s early beginnings, which you can experience by walking the 2.5 mile “Freedom Trail” that connects 16 national historic sites, including Paul Revere’s house. From Boston, you can also enjoy the many activities available around New England. Ski in Vermont, boat off of Rhode Island or Cape Cod, and take in the fall foliage changes in New Hampshire. Boston is electric with energy from the area’s large student population. It is home to some of the nation’s oldest educational institutions, including Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – both in neighboring Cambridge, where the Le Cordon Bleu campus is located and Julia Child once had a home.
