If you’re a student anywhere, you know that finding the perfect place to study is always difficult, and once you find the perfect place, chances are you’ll keep going back until you’re done with school. For those students in St. Louis, here is a list of 5 great coffee shops where you can have some excellent food, coffee and a little peace and quiet.
Coffee Cartel Internet Café:
This place has the latest and greatest in internet technology and equipment. You won’t have to worry about slow loading speeds or ease of access. For those that just have an Ethernet card in their laptop, this shop even offers a place to plug in to their internet connection. The connection is free and there are even some computers you can pay to use if you don’t have your own. The Coffee Cartel Internet Café is located in the Central West End at: #2 Maryland Plaza, St. Louis, Missouri 63108
Shaw’s Coffee Shop:
If you’re looking for a really great cup of coffee while you write that term paper, Shaw’s is the place. They import all of their premium coffee beans from around the world and even have their own privately owned roasting company. The shop itself, which was formerly an old historic bank, has a great atmosphere, and after you are done there are a number of fantastic delis and restaurants in the neighboring area. So sit back, relax, and get your work done in this great little venue.
Originally started in 1992, the shop moved to Arsenal Street in the Grand-South-Grand Business District. There is a loft and an extensive patio, so if you like to sit in peace and quiet upstairs, or enjoy the hustle and bustle of the street while you work, you have your choice. The shop serves breakfast until 11am, making it a particularly nice spot if you like to get things done early in the morning. However, they serve food throughout the day, and the kitchen remains open until 10:30pm, so no matter what time you like to get your work done, MoKaBe is a great place to go.
6 North Coffee
6 North also offers wireless internet, and there are multiple locations around St. Louis, so it’s easy to find one close to you. 6 North has a calming, peaceful atmosphere, which makes it particularly well-suited to those students who are stressed and trying to get some work done last minute. There is an extensive menu with the option to create some fantastic custom-order sandwiches. Neither location is open on Sunday, so if you’re looking to get some last minute work done before Monday, you’ll have to choose one of the other Cafes.
Nadoz Coffee Shop
Recognized and loved by many locals, this coffee shop is perfect for students of St. Louis University because of its nearby location. Here you’ll be able to find Coffee, Tea, hot sandwiches and more. There are actually two locations, and both offer free wireless internet. The location on Lindell has an enchanting atmosphere, largely created by the original 1929 architecture and lovely patio.
Time to Get Some Work Done
Now that you have some places to get your work done you can hopefully break that awful cycle of procrastination. Or, if you’re in the minority of students who actually do their work far in advance, you now have some great spots to be the over-achiever your classmates are envious of.
