El Gaucho
While not for those on a budget, the comfy upholstery and low-lighted dining rooms are enticing. El Gaucho is known for its dry-aged/certified Angus beef. Try a chateaubriand for two – carved at your table. Also known for exemplary service, located in the wonderful Benson Hotel, El Gaucho will not disappoint. Come each night for live guitar music.

Do you like 1940s Supper Clubs? Then Gracie’s is for you.”Swank” doesn’t quite describe this experience with grilled swordfish and stuffed pork loin served with local, seasonal vegetables, Gracie’s doesn’t disappoint. Try the weekend brunch that includes breakfast favorites and more.

As a former executive chef at the Heathman Hotel, Chef Greg Higgins knows how to use local ingredients. Traditional French cooking styles are abundant on the menu. Warm beet salad, asparagus, and artichokes are a great start. Main courses change seasonally and vegetarian items are available. In the next-door bar, you will find a more limited bistro menu.

Pad Thai may not be what you would expect at Lemongrass with its white linen tablecloths, fresh flowers and This Old House setting. They cook to order here, so no need to come if you are in a rush. Try the chicken chili paste and peanut curry on any dish. Please note: they only accept cash or check.

Paley’s Place
French Pacific Northwest-style cuisine may sound like a contradiction, but they do it right and well here at Paley’s Place. Try one of several duck dishes, chicken, halibut or New York strip steak. A vegetarian selection is also available.
